Oracles
Liquity uses Chainlink as its primary oracle and Tellor as a fallback. The LUNA case showed that Chainlink price feeds can be unreliable during market turmoil — no one should neglect a fallback oracle.
Nephrite's setup
Nephrite also uses a two-oracle approach, but with different oracles.
- Main oracle — the BeamX Network Oracle, provided by the Beam Foundation as a public good.
- Fallback oracle — initially maintained by the Nephrite team. Eventually it will be connected to a decentralized oracle network, resilient to LUNA-sudden-drop-style issues.
This staged approach lets the system launch quickly while leaving room to harden the fallback layer over time.
